James J. Cordano, III
James J. Cordano, III is President and CEO of the Cordano Company. Mr. Cordano has worked in every aspect of the firm’s business, including development, asset management, finance, leasing, and corporate strategy. Mr. Cordano is a principal in the firm and has directly overseen all of its development and operating activities for the past eighteen years.
Prior to joining the Cordano Company full time, Mr. Cordano was an attorney with the Sacramento law firm of Hefner Stark and Marois. His primary area of practice was real estate transactions and complex land use matters.
Mr. Cordano graduated from the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with Distinction. During law school, he received three American Jurisprudence Awards, was Recipient of the McGeorge Academic Achievement Scholarship and became a member of the Traynor Honor Society.
In addition to his role in the firm, Mr. Cordano has served on a wide variety of boards and committees including as a member of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Downtown Partnership, Board Member and Past President of the Florin Road Partnership, and Founding Board Member and Chairman of the Loan Committee of a Sacramento based community bank. Mr. Cordano is a California Licensed Real Estate Broker and is a member of the State Bar of California, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute.
Mark Cordano is Vice President of the Cordano Company. Mr. Cordano has over 25 years of experience with particular specialization in the leasing and development of urban infill retail, restaurant, and entertainment projects including the historic Firestone Building in Sacramento and the Bistro 33 development in Davis, CA. Mr. Cordano is a principal in the firm.
Mr. Cordano has assisted many of the top regional and national restaurants in their stratgeic store planning and expansion "roll out" plans throughout Northern California. He has received several awards and accommodations for his leasing and development efforts from various cities and historic preservation organizations. Mr. Cordano is recognized as one the leading restaurant leasing agents in the region and has been a driving force in the revitalization and redevelopment of downtown Sacramento.
Mr. Cordano received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Economics from Saint Mary’s College. He is also a graduate of the University of Michigan Advanced Leasing program and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr. Cordano’s hobbies include spending time with his family and friends, flying, golfing, skiing and biking.
Alan Cordano has been involved with retail and commercial leasing for over 40 years. Mr. Cordano’s background includes shopping center management and leasing for large developers such as Ernest W, Hahn, Inc., and Robacor Associates. Notable projects include Capital Mall, Olympia Washington, Chico Mall, Chico California, Heritage Mall, Albany Oregon, and Silver Lake Mall, Couer d’Alene, Idaho. Mr. Cordano has represented numerous tenants including McDonalds, Lenscrafters, and See’s Candies. Mr. Cordano holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Mr. Mortimore is CFO of the Cordano Company and oversees the firms accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions. He also assists the firm in various financial strategic planning areas. Mr. Mortimore has over twenty five years of experience as a commercial real estate finance executive. His expertise has been applied to commercial development (including retail, multifamily, office, land and mixed-use projects), investment acquistion, and asset and property management. He also has extensive experience in implementing financing structures using various capital sources including complex derivative instruments. Mr. Mortimore received his undergradute degree in accounting from California State University, Sacramento and his MBA from Golden Gate University. He is a Certified Public Accountant having worked with KPMG.
